Afghan Heroes - We're more than the name suggests...
Londons Air Studios played host to an emotional rollercoaster on November 17th. Over a hundred people pitched in to help with the recording of the new song, Steal the Sun, written for Afghan Heroes. We hope for the song to be remembered by millions as a work of genius for soldiers who need our support. Some promotional video footage has been prepared to show some of the behind the scenes footage of the day and can been watched here. Keep watching our Website, Facebook, Twitter and newly operational YouTube Channel for more updates on these emotional recordings and please encourage as many people as possible to purchase the song as it is finally released. They have situated a Mobile Home on their land especially for Afghan Heroes and would like to offer our brave soldiers, Airman, Marines and their partners use of this, (not suitable for children). There is a small village nearby and small town 3km away.
If you would like to take advantage of this wonderful holiday please contact Nick or Tracie (See image above).
As you may be aware Afghan Heroes has its first holiday home located at Weymouth Bay in Dorset. The purpose of the home is to provide quality time for families of the fallen and our wounded heroes. The initiative is subsidised by the general public holidaying at peak times at a fifty percent reduction of the main Haven tariff. 2012 Weymouth Bay hosts the sailing events for the Olympic and Para-Olympic games, therefore accommodation will be at a premium. Afghan Heroes will consider letting the home in these premium weeks to the General Public, in the first instance please email sam.foote@afghanheroes.org.uk indicating which weeks you would be interested in together with your suggested charity donation.
From Our Blog
Fallen Hero
It is with deep sorrow that we must report the death of Lance Corporal Lee Davies of 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, who has been killed during the ongoing operations in Afghanistan. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends, we cannot fully comprehend your loss, and our hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow.

The Corporal Lee Scott
The Corporal Lee Scott was created by Paul Ferguson and Martin Turner in recognition of the formation of Afghan Heroes. A Harley Davidson MT-350, which has seen active service, was procured as the donor bike, and the vision was born.
Simply the Cpl. Lee Scott is a motorcycle memorial to all the fallen soldiers in Afghanistan from the commencement of hostilities in 2001 up until the present day. Symbolically the build of the Cpl. Lee Scott was finished on the 11th November 2011. Tragically however, the Cpl. Lee Scott will never be completed until British Forces are removed from the hostile territory of Afghanistan.
